Creating content that converts
Hi, I’m Brandy. Content person, marketing unicorn, great question asker.
I have more than 15 years helping brands of all sizes define and execute their marketing strategies, develop their unique value proposition, and tell their story across marketing channels.
I have been the driving force behind the development of multiple products and digital experiences working in collaboration with full product teams, and I bring a core competency in digital marketing, content strategy, brand positioning, marketing integration, user-driven content design, and anything to do with words and storytelling. I am successful in driving digital initiatives with C-level executives and bringing the big question of “How the heck are we going to do this?” to life.
Recently, I have focused on helping CPG companies such as P&G and Unilever win at ecommerce and using content strategy principles to drive omni-channel marketing.
Before all that I was a professional dancer in Chicago and worked in hospitality (see professional dancer). I once asked Harrison Ford if he wanted a cocktail shrimp.
When I’m not doing all things marketing, I’m dreaming of being the next bestselling author.
-
The strategy around content before the content is made. This can look like editorial planning, information architecture, the start of a website, product or software or a 360 degree campaign. Usually involves PPTs, Excel documents, competitive analysis, journey mapping, some form of design software and a bunch of scrabbled-on printer paper and post-it notes.
-
Keeping the content engine rolling against strategic pillars and business goals. (Also known in some circles as Content Strategy.)
-
Getting found on the internet in content. Not an expert but I can optimize content for results. Familiar with SEMRush.
-
Creating optimized content and content strategies for ecommerce platforms through the lens of a shopper funnel and their omni-shopper journey. Expertise in Amazon Brand Stores, PDPs, Instacart and Walmart.
-
As part of being so close to the beginning of projects, and without ever having a research team to lean on, I’m good at knowing enough to be dangerous, leading workshops, discussion groups and finding insights from the data.
-
Bringing content strategy together in a way that serves the user and gives content a clear and usable system. Pretty sure I couldn’t tell you the difference between it and content strategy but I know other people will.

Where it all started. UX writing, long- form, headlines, pages of novels that go unseen, poetry, screenplays… if there are words, I can get it done. (Note: not to be translated as an editor.)
